Janet Lucas, LCSW, is an intuitive healer and licensed clinical social worker of 30+ years. She began her journey as a social worker in end of life care at Los Angeles County+USC Medicine Center where she and her team created one of the first palliative care programs in the country. Supporting patients and their loved ones allowed Janet to “look beyond the veil” and witness the beauty, healing, and transformation that can emerge through challenge, adversity, and loss. Rather than traditional psychological theory, Janet came to rely on the wisdom of sacred teachings, myth, and fairytale to navigate the profound and often magical experiences of those she served. This experience also introduced her to the Sacred Feminine — the forgotten and neglected wisdom of Dark Mother who values intuition, connection, being, receptivity, silence, darkness, dissolution, and rebirth. Her early work in end of life and palliative care informed her view that each individual is a divine being whose birthright is to return home to who they truly are. This journey “home” is a supreme act of courage that requires support, compassion, and an acceptance of one’s unique path – just ask Luke Skywalker, Siddhartha, and Dorothy!
Awakened by her experiences in end of life care, Janet began practicing Tarot in 2000. She found the “cards” to be a powerful portal into the unconscious and untapped messages for healing. This lay the foundation for her apprenticeship in mystic shamanism and Integrative Shakti Reiki with Dr. B. Raven Lee, PhD, an accomplished transpersonal psychologist, author, and shamanic healer.
Today, Janet continues her social work while growing Sacred Garden Healing, her own intuitive energy healing practice in Glendale, CA. Integrative Shakti Reiki, mystic shamanism, and Tarot largely inform her work. A full list of her services can be found here.
